My Gigabyte Designare z390 Motherboard has no Trusted Platform Module (TPM), but I enabled Intel Platform Trust Technology (PTT) to make it work.

Clippy says, “It looks like you’re installing Windows 11 without TPM. Would you like help?” (a) Get help buying a TPM chip; (b) Just enable PTT; Checkbox: Get a mac and don’t show me this tip again

Procedure

Here’s how I got Windows 11 support on my Gigabyte Designare z390 Motherboard without buying a TPM module (currently sold out and in high demand):

  1. Check if your computer supports Windows 11 with Microsoft PC Health Check.
(Working? You’re done. Not working? Continue to step two.)
  2. Enable Intel Platform Trust Technology (PTT) in the BIOS.
(Restart > DEL/F12 to enter BIOS setup > Peripherals > Enable Intel Platform Trust Technology, PTT, Save Changes and Exit BIOS setup)
Enable Intel Platform Trust Technology BIOS Screenshot

Result

“Great news” from PC Health Check: “This PC can run windows 11” after enabling Intel Platform Trust Technology (PTT).
